The Fund Business Analyst represents an opportunity to be a part of the growing US funds part of Wellington Funds Group (WMF US).   WMF US is responsible for Wellington Management's US pooled fund businesses, namely commingled trust vehicles sponsored by Wellington Trust Company, NA, and private funds offered to US investors (LPs and Cayman Corporations). As of March 31, 2017, the WMF US business consisted of 273 commingled pools (bank-maintained and LP), with assets under management of US $50 billion from 1,200 clients.  The WMF US team serves as fund sponsor, overseeing fund governance, fund investment strategy oversight, fund risk oversight, fund business management, regulatory compliance, marketing and product development, operations and distribution oversight.


Working as part of a small, close knit team, the Business Analyst is a generalist, cross-functional role, broadly supporting the day to day business management and oversight needs of the WMF US sponsored funds.  The person who fills this role will work on a wide range of business, market opportunity, investor, product, governance and regulatory activities.

Examples of work (but not limited to) include:

  • Collaborate with senior members of WMF US to perform analytical work supporting the management and oversight of the WMF US funds (performance, risk, and business analysis, etc.)
  • Provide Marketing support for new LPs
  • Oversight and governance of fund-related information, including management fees, operating expenses, and dealing terms
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations, including reviewing and implementing WMF US Policies & Procedures


This is a dynamic generalist role that requires a strong fiduciary mindset, intellectual curiosity and advanced analytical skill including the ability to frame issues, identify important points and draw conclusions. Strong communication skills, interpersonal flexibility and a pragmatic, problem-solving approach is a must. Basic programming and data visualization knowledge (i.e. Basic Python and/or Tableau a plus)
