The Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Accounting team, responsible for guiding the company on all technical accounting initiatives.

The Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Accounting team, responsible for guiding the company on all technical accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Institute accounting policies and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance in all areas including revenue & expense recognition, treasury transactions, stock compensation, foreign currency transactions, and project accounting
  • Monitor the execution of new accounting standards, as applicable, with a focus on upcoming ASC 606 & SOX 404B project
  • Initiate quarterly and annual SEC filings, compiling of entire document and managing the review process across internal and external parties
  • Assist with the oversight of key department relationships, including audit and tax
  • Preparation of quarterly earnings releases
  • Work collaboratively with the corporate controller to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies and procedures, and resolution of various accounting issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years of accounting experience in a publicly traded organization; required.
  • CPA, required.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting background is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply GAAP accounting practices, including ASC 605 and 606
  • Experience in financial reporting within high growth and international organizations.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work through complex, unstructured problems.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and to handle competing priorities effectively.
