Business Risk Advisory Lead, Assistant Vice President

As a Business Risk Advisory Lead you will
  • Lead and/or perform end to end process and control reviews to assess the design of controls
  • Execute controls testing and conclude on operating effectiveness
  • Document and communicate results of reviews, including issues and recommendations, to process owners and senior management
  • Monitor and report on remediation steps and corrective action plans from control review findings to implementation
  • Establish positive relationships with key functional teams and leaders within first line of defense business lines. Develop same with Operational Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit. Instill confidence by demonstrating credibility and expertise on control issues
  • Maintain the highest level of personal integrity in all dealings thereby mitigating reputational risk to SSGA and its customers
  • Other tasks as required

These skills will help you succeed in this role
  • 5+ years of financial services experience with a large financial services firm or advisory/consulting firm including experience as an internal auditor, public accountant, or compliance officer
  • Experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, or control programs
  • Ability to collaborate and drive execution within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt to various situations and audiences
  • Shown ability to work on large global cross-functional projects
  • Strong ability to lead through influence
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work within deadlines and meet goals

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters or other advanced degree preferred
  • Professional certification in auditing preferred, e.g., CIA, CPA, CFSA
  • Experience in Financial Services highly preferred
  • Experience working with remote offshore teams
