Data Management, Senior Director
The Senior Director, Data Management will lead a team of people responsible for the day-to- day management of data assets that support Experians Targeting business. This position will oversee the data management, data quality and customer service as it relates to Experians vast ConsumerView database, one of the industrys largest consumer demographic/behavioral databases as well as the managing Experians growing repository of digital data assets.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing, developing and implementing rules/logic for receiving, validating, processing, protecting and maintaining Experian data (online and offline) assets ensuring product reliability and quality.
Overseeing the integration of data sources that feed the compilation repository 24/7.
Formulating rules and logic for data usage and product fitness
Overseeing the extract process rules ensuring adherence to compliance requirements and product fit.
Oversee the distribution of over 2,500 product file deliveries annually
Envision and implement advanced uses/applications for data
Facilitate testing and validation of new data sources
Responsible knowing and understanding our data assets, how they are constructed, what data is used to build, cycles of data delivery, and how data and products move with the Experian environment at any given point in time.
Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the companys principal information assets
Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise data maps, including owners
Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
Responsible for developing strategies to increase efficiencies in data management on-line and offline data assets
Develops, plans, directs and controls strategic short and long term financial and operational goals and objectives for a broad functional area. Manages goals and objectives through subordinate managers, supervisors and staff.
Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to subordinate managers, supervisors and staff.
Develops policies and procedures that affect departmental operations and may affect cross-organizational functions.
Oversees acquisition of required industry and state suppression files and continued compliance with usage.
Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace.
Collaborates with Product Management on the rationalization and development of new data assets, product offerings; deployment and governance of data usage in fulfillment tools.
Supports client and sales efforts to correctly and appropriate utilize ConsumerView data assets.
Other duties as required.
10+ years of experience in a data management.
5-7 years managerial experience.
Knowledge / Skills
Advanced knowledge of the direct marketing industry.
Advanced knowledge of both offline and online digital data assets
Advanced knowledge of meta-data management tools.
Advanced leadership skills. Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and problem- solving skills.
Knowledge of federal, state legislation as it relates to the Direct Marketing business
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Advanced knowledge of PC desktop applications and database inquiries.
Excellent reasoning and decision analysis skills.
Ability to develop and execute metrics driven business plans.
