This position is the portfolio lead on the Citi Retail Services Best Buy credit card portfolio. The role will have significant interaction with Citi Retail Services Senior Management and the Partner Finance and Business teams driving product and marketing opportunities.  The role is also responsible for shaping the analytics and reporting for the portfolio fulfilling both internal management and partner needs.  The Senior Lead Analyst leads a team of onshore and offshore resources performing financial analyses related to promotional programs, investment opportunities, marketing campaigns, new product development, and other strategic initiatives as well as forecasting and analyzing P&L dynamics and growth/return increase scenarios.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Best Buy Finance staff to develop projections for internal sales and applications, develop forecast model and create projections for out-of-store sales
  • Partner with Finance Planning & Analysis on Contractual P&L and profit share payment forecasting, including both current year and long term/contract projections
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners to develop annual Marketing plan, including regular updates to ensure accurate projections
  • Drive insight through the development of vintage and ongoing product-level profitability analysis with detailed segmentation by key driver
  • Analyze promotion-level profitability and sales performance, influencing internal and partner promotional strategy
  • Support marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives through generation of requested financial analysis, providing guidance and insight to business and partner teams
  • Interact with Citi analytics teams (e.g. Risk Management, Decision Management, etc.) to prepare both regular and ad hoc internal and partner-facing analytics
  • Support preparation of financial packages for business reviews, investment/marketing campaign reporting, and other financial reports, as needed
  • Participate in month-end close process to ensure accuracy of partner related payments, accruals, and reserves; ensure partner financials align with contract terms
  • Evaluate contractual changes (amendments, etc…) both analytically and from a contract language standpoint
  • Direct day-to-day work of onshore and offshore finance resources, providing coaching and training to staff
  • Support Citi Retail Services business-wide financial analyses, as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of advanced financial analysis experience.  Credit card experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and intellectual curiosity to identify business needs, partner with the appropriate senior leaders
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced, matrixed team oriented environment across multiple diverse businesses while building strong relationships 
  • Must have a proven track record of strong performance managing multiple diverse priorities with tight deadlines
