The role is a full time position in 90 North's real estate investment advisory business, jointly reporting to Head of Finance in London and Head of US in Chicago. 

90 North is looking for a competent, self-starter, commercially aware, qualified accountant to assist in a hands-on finance role, leading on all finance, accounting and tax elements, as well as day to day operations and payables of the United States real estate portfolio, pre/post-closing as required. 

This is a varied role requiring excellent time management skills and a 'can do' attitude. 90 North is a small professional team and the US Finance Manager needs to be reliable with excellent attention to detail. 

Responsibilites include:

  • Operation of payroll and management of staff incentives
  • Liaise with property managers regarding payments and regular reports
  • Setup, monitoring and maintenace of operational Excel cash flow models and actuals
  • Assistance with Excel cashflow/investment modelling during hold periods and for exits
  • Revision of IRRs and projected returns
  • Review of management accounts for ownership entities
  • Below the line, owner level accounts payable
  • Assistance with reporting to banks and investors
  • Assistance with review of tax filings and forms
  • Assistance with international tax structure establishment and operations
  • Assistance with US compliance for insurance, IRS, state forms and follow up


Candidates should have:

  • Accounting degree required, masters preferred
  • Qualified CPA ideally in real estate idustry or small practice with hands on experience of accounts preparation and reconciliations
  • 5+ years prior experience in the US
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel, preferably to macro. 
  • Ideally experience in Argus
  • Experience in tax filings as they relate to US corporations and patnerships and ideally international tax structures
  • Ideally some knowledge of financial modelling and finance concepts such as NOI return, cash flow returns, IRR, promotes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce quality work under pressure
  • Ability to 'see the bigger picture' in order to provide useful, succinct and accurate information
