We are looking for motivated and talented students who want to help us solve some of the most complex challenges in financial technology. Technology teams at CME write and maintain ultra-low-latency electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, and front-end trading interfaces, all of which are central to CME's business. We are focused on designing, building and deploying customer focused solutions with passion and precision.
CME's Technology Summer Internship program offers students opportunities to learn more about CME's business, our role in the financial industry, and the types of technology that keeps our markets running. Students will develop both their technical skills and expand their network with access to industry experts, while working alongside other talented and ambitious students with a passion for FinTech.
Have you wanted to know about the technologies that drive automation in a company? Have you had an interest in creating automatic validations (which are commonly used in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery implementations)? Do you want to learn methodologies that translate into cloud platforms like Azure or AWS? This project will automate the packaging of software foundations within the enterprise that our major software platforms depend on. You will learn about DevOps enablement by developing Jenkins pipelines, creating software packages and deploy software dependencies for automatic validation.
The intern will learn about systems troubleshooting, software packaging, configuration management, infrastructure as code and application deployment within a major financial services organization. The skills learned will be managing large infrastructures and developing automation using highly sought-after technologies in today's marketplace. This will also provide an understanding of the core technologies that provide services to business applications, such as clearing and trading.
This will expose the intern to Nexus repositories, NuGet, Chocolatey, Jenkins and Windows servers in a large enterprise environment. In addition, this will develop skills in collaboration, project management and requirements gathering.
- Learn fundamentals of the following technologies:
- Istio, Envoy
- REST interfaces
- Work on example code for automating software packaging
- Work on developing modular software deployment automation
- Create Jenkins pipelines to create the package, deploy it to test environments and automatically validate the work
- Managing new docker infrastructure for blue/green and canary deployments.
- Web socket messaging infrastructure across global data centers.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Studying Computer Science or a related field
- Experience writing code in Java, Python, or C++
- A passion for problem solving
