Description The Senior Risk Mgmt Policy Associate will be responsible for leading efforts to shape risk management policy, leveraging industry knowledge and experience, while also supporting the ongoing maintenance of CME Clearing's Recovery and Wind-Down Plans.
Principal Accountabilities: - Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for risk management standards and governance with a mindset of prioritizing financial stability. This requires following through on such recommendations, taking ownership of the related work and demonstrating leadership abilities. - Assess the potential impact of proposed regulatory changes and liaise with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders on these changes, as well as prepare written responses to these changes. This requires nuanced thinking, strong writing skills, and an attention to detail, while also being capable of successfully coordinating and working across multiple teams within CME Clearing and the broader CME Group. - Support the ongoing maintenance of CME Clearing's Recovery and Wind-Down Plans pursuant to applicable CFTC regulations, while also engaging with relevant regulatory bodies on such plans. This not only requires strong writing skills, but requires forward thinking relative to ongoing industry work and ultimately, a fulsome understanding of CME Clearing's risk management practices. -Deliver high quality results for high priority and time sensitive projects that require independent thinking and taking initiative to fully define the challenges and recommending related solutions.
Skills Requirements: - Minimum of 4 years' experience in risk management policy, related regulatory field, or management consulting for the industry or financial services. - Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail. - Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines, while working flexibly in a team environment or independently. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
