This role exists to support CME in monitoring compliance with CME Rules and CFTC regulations relating to creation, maintenance, and enforcement of audit trail requirements. The Sr. Data Investigator will lead and assist in leading CME's recordkeeping exception programs and exams of Clearing Firms.

The Sr. Data Investigator key responsibilities are:

• Analyze trade and audit trail records to determine if violations of exchange recordkeeping rules have been committed. These reviews may be done in the context of firm exams, standard program reviews, or investigations

• Retrieve, clean, transform large amounts of historical data and determine the most suitable techniques to process and analyze data for advanced reporting and automated decision-making

• Research and develop data driven innovative solutions for solving business problems

• Monitor, tune, and extend existing analytic solutions/products. Demonstrate great analytical and problem-solving skills

• Diplomatically deal with market participants, internal and external stakeholders in discussions on Data Investigations activities

Requirements:

• Education & Experience: MS/BS + 3 of related Data Analysis experience. Field of Degree: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

• Strong knowledge in Python and advanced Microsoft Excel, Experience with SQL is desirable

• Knowledge of electronic trading practices and back-office clearing operations, preferred

• Business knowledge of trading and financial systems, preferred
