Participates and leads in the development, specification and communication of the organization's technology architecture plan, the high level infrastructure components required to support it, and the integration of corporate and business area architectures. Recommends new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall business goals.
- Reviews and provides feedback on technical solutions for teams across the enterprise to enable business unit architects to make informed decisions.
- Participate in blueprinting and road mapping exercises around the IT Portfolio to enable business unit architects to make informed decisions.
- Conducts system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated systems that operate at low cost levels.
- Advises on system scalability and development opportunities that can be utilized or adapted to meet business objectives.
- Consults with IT and client management in the development of tactical systems plan and directions to assure design principles and patterns are adhered to.
- Provides technical expertise at the highest level.
- Participates in building of new and on-going vendor relationships.
- Promotes sharing of expertise through consulting, presentation and documentation.
May assist in the training of other application or infrastructure architecture Staff
Knowledge/Skills Extensive knowledge of systems architecture, excellent consultative skills, strong analytical ability and ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff. Analytical skills are needed to analyze and evaluate technical information and coordinate projects.
Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least five, typically seven or more years experience in systems architecture methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experiences.
