Software Engineer II- Enterprise Services Team

The Software Engineer II develops secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions with appropriate mentoring, to advance CMEG in the global marketplace and serve authentication and authorization needs of customers around the world.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Applies basic knowledge of development tools to maintain designs while applying modifications.
  • Intermediate p roficien cy in Java development and unit testing.
  • Applies industry standards/best practices while developing.
  • Exhibits intermediate knowledge of database SQL, and familiar with basic database modeling and tuning.
  • Considers code optimization techniques while performing delegated tasks.
  • Discovers own bugs through unit tests and corrects identified defects and issues.
  • Demonstrates flexibility during code review and provides constructive feedback.
  • Assists with environment build deployments, release notes and build notices .
  • Documents and r eviews code to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues and defects as well as identify solution problems and issues outside code.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline is required; or equivalent combination of education and relevant proven work experience that is required for the specific job level.

Experience:
  • Full-stack Java developer with 3+ years of core development experience and 1+ of front end development .
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.

Software Requirements:
  • Java, Spring framework
  • OAuth/Open ID Connect, LDAP
  • RDBMS, SQL
  • Web development: JavaScript, CSS, React
  • CI/CD tools: Bamboo, Chef, Jenkins
  • XL Release (optional)
  • UC4 (optional)

Physical, Scheduling, & Location Requirements:
  • Carry CME issued mobile device for support
  • Presence at CME Group locations in Chicago (temporarily WFH)
  • 1st shift hours plus evening and weekend support as required
