Senior Software Engineer
The Chicago Application Development team is responsible for developing both internal and customer facing products for our ratings business, supporting various strategic, regulatory and operational objectives. We are seeking a senior full-stack developer who can play a key role in the design and development of next generation digital products for our ratings customers. The ideal candidate would have a strong experience in JavaScript frameworks - React, Vue.js or Angular, Microsoft technologies like C#, .NET Core, Sharepoint, test driven development, build pipelines and agile development practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Internal technology teams to understand and capture customer requirements to deliver high quality software products.
  • Participate in architecture, design, documentation, development, debugging, and deployment efforts while addressing security, cross-browser and cross-platform concepts and concerns.
  • Partner with User Experience teams and develop web 2.0 & web 3.0 user interfaces for new and existing web applications using web technologies and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Leverage Agile & DevSecOps methodologies including task estimation, test automation, deployment automation, and continuous integration to improve overall execution speed and code quality.
  • Leverage Microsoft technologies to implement desktop or web-based solutions and integrate with Microsoft products and internal applications.
  • Write test-driven, clean, modular JavaScript and .NET/C# or code using external libraries or custom code.
  • Support existing applications using a variety of technologies, including Java/.NET frameworks, APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Coordinate with front-line technical support teams to provide production support, including off-hours.


Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with hands-on design and development of software and digital transformation projects.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft technologies - C#, .NET Core, VBA, Sharepoint and related technologies.
  • 5+ years of test-driven development with frameworks like NUnit, XUnit or Selenium, Cucumber.
  • 4+ years of experience developing in Visual Studio and using IIS or Team Foundation Server
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript/ES6/Typescript and at least one frontend framework, for instance React, Angular 2+, Vue.
  • 3+ years of SQL / PL SQL development experience with Oracle or other Relational DBs.
  • 2+ years of Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Azure Cloud experience including set up, deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years of experience with DevOps tools and technologies including but not limited to Bamboo, BitBucket or Git with a heavy emphasis on Automation and Quality (CI/CD).
  • 2+ years of experience working in high-performance teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and innovation.
  • Problem-solver who adopts an analytical approach to solving technical and business problems and chooses the most appropriate technology to solve the right business problem.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field


Preferred:
  • Banking or Financial Services experience
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with Java and server-side applications
  • Experience working with offshore development teams
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system.
