The Role: Rating Analyst, Structured Finance Ratings - Unsecured ABS

The Team: S&P Global Ratings is seeking a rating analyst to join its Structured Finance practice, which provides credit ratings and opinions for ABS transactions. The team performs analysis on new issue and surveillance transactions for transactions backed by student loans, credit card assets and unsecured consumer loans.

The Impact:
In this role, the rating analyst will compile data and credit metrics in support of analyzing both new issue and surveillance transactions. The role also involves client-facing activities in support of this work. The Rating Analyst will support the analytical teams in all aspects of the ratings process, from collecting and reviewing data, preparing committee documentation, publishing, and the quality assurance process including, with limited supervision. Rating Analysts who excel will gain more responsibility and have opportunities to work on complex assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research and preparing documents and presentations for rating committees;
  • Analyzing cash flow and collateral characteristics of asset pools;
  • Attending ratings committee meetings with senior analysts as assigned;
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis;
  • Assisting in the collection and analysis of data on special projects; and
  • Working with analysts to publish periodic thought leadership articles
What We're Looking For:
  • BS/BA or similar degree
  • One to two years of work experience
  • Experience in financial modeling (cash flow analysis)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team, particularly with remote colleagues
  • Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++, MATLAB, Python, or VBA) a plus
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and to multitask
Compensation/Benefits Information :

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46,200, to $129,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
