Their outstanding capabilities position them to meet the liquidity demands of a diverse range of institutional clients in all market conditions. They are looking to hire an exceptional Systems/Devops/SRE engineer to help them in creating the next generation of their research platform. The ideal candidate will be proficient in at least one of C++, Java, Perl, have experience in modern automation (Puppet, Docker, etc. . . ) and have an automate everything attitude.

My client is a premier quant investment firm across equity and fixed income products.  Their outstanding capabilities position them to meet the liquidity demands of a diverse range of institutional clients in all market conditions.  They are looking to hire an exceptional Systems/Devops/SRE engineer to help them in creating the next generation of their research platform.  The ideal candidate will be proficient in at least one of C++, Java, Perl, have experience in modern automation (Puppet, Docker, etc. . . ) and have an automate everything attitude.

The team develops and optimizes the compute, cloud, and big data systems required to tackle impressive quantitative research problems at global scale. They are looking for a highly capable and innovative engineer to move colossal quantitative workloads into a software-defined proprietary hybrid cloud, writing the software to seamlessly scale their environment in response to elastic and unpredictable demands.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of experience in either: A) in a Systems/DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer role, or B) as a distributed systems developer
  • Proficient in one or more of C++, Java, Python, or Go. You are intimately familiar with the implementation, strengths, and weaknesses of your chosen language(s)
  • Understanding of how computers, software, and networks actually work. You leverage that knowledge to excel in the development and troubleshooting of complicated high-performance systems
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple groups and domains, in virtual global team environments, while delivering quality work on time
  • Demonstrated ability to automate and monitor complex environments coupled with mastery of the accompanying tooling

Ideal candidate

 

  • Development and/or engineering experience in a high-performance finance environment such as a hedge fund, prop shop, or investment bank
  • Experience in large compute environments such as: high-performance compute (HPC) clusters, university or lab scientific grids, or hyper-growth Cloud deployments
  • Have managed sizable production workloads in one or more public cloud providers
  • Love the challenges and rewards associated with working on high-profile revenue-critical systems alongside committed and talented colleagues
  • Master’s degree or higher in a technical, engineering, or quantitative field, or equivalent experience
