Project Manager/Business Analyst
Our client, a premi ere Investment Bank, is looking for a Project Manager to join their operations team in Chicago, IL.

Main tasks will include:
  • Contribute to the global program aiming at adapting to new regulatory constraints arising in APAC and Europe
  • Driving the project in the US, working on a project to be delivered for the Operations teams, mainly Listed Deri vatives Clearing and Reconciliations
  • Coordinating with all impacted teams: Compliance, FO, Risk, Finance... in the US, Europe and APAC
  • Drilling into the details of the processes, analysing large excel files provided by the subject matter experts
  • Driving the implementation of recommendations coming out of the process analysis
  • Putting in place the proper KPIs, in order to ensure a smooth hand-over of the improvements to the process owners

Project governance expectations:
  • Establish the governance of the projec ts you are in charge of
  • Develop the material, tracking, governance model to accelerate the execution of the projects
  • Contribute to the prioritization of the solutions, escalate early when risk of delays arise
  • Understand and gather process automation and ot her improvement needs from the various stakeholders across the firm
  • Define and establish the right level of interactions required between the various groups involved in the project
  • Report the progress and risks to the global and regional management

Proje ct execution expectations:
  • Define the specific problems related to the processes to be improved and controlled
  • Map, measure and analyse various processes to be fixed
  • Propose improvements to the process owner
  • Implement controls, dashboards and other control tools to enable the process owner to manage his own processes independently and efficiently
  • Enable a sustainable monitoring of the processes with the process owner
  • Understand the control framework of the firm and identify the more suitable components to f ix the issues at hand

Stakeholders management
  • Maintain effective internal working relationships with peers in the various Operations teams and beyond
  • Obtain and challenge process changes from mid to senior managers in order to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality service with a view to exceeding client expectations
  • Develop a strong customer-centric approach required to build credibility and trust wit h internal customers
  • Manage expectations from mid-managers

Job requirements
  • Strong project / program management experience
  • Business Process analysis experience, ability to run business analysis independently, learning from the subject matter experts where needed
  • Experience in process analysis and control
  • Strong analytical skills and critical mind-set
  • Ability to manage multipl e concurrent tasks, with a strong focus on execution / delivery
  • Flexibility to adapt to different stakeholders expectations in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in financial services (banking, insurance...): trade execution & clearing, settlement, finance & accounting, regulations...
  • Experience in managing difficult stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Integrated to the Regional operations team in Chicago, you will work on a global regulatory project, driven by the European and Asian teams. You will interact daily with the global and regional stakeholders in Operations, Compliance, Risk, FO, Finance.... Your main objective will be to deliver the project and to manage and escalate the risks arisi ng daily in order to get the appropriate support to mitigate them.
