Job Summary:

This role will oversee the technical aspects of CME Group’s global video production and distribution processes, as well as advise on strategic aspects of video marketing and communications. This role will have strong oversight over budgeting and spending for the BCDC department, and will lead projects relating to global studio builds, global production environments, and online video distribution. The role will work closely on cross-divisional projects with IT, Marketing/Website, and business-side clients looking to integrate video into CME Group initiatives, and will have responsibility for the security and integrity of video both externally and for the enterprise. As a technical leader, this employee will implement new production and distribution technologies, advise on future implementations, and train staff in operation of CME Group technologies. The position will require a broad knowledge of video technologies for production and distribution, an understanding of regulatory issues pertaining to our industry, and experience with video strategy for both public facing and enterprise audiences. The position requires strong critical thinking skills, and the knowledge and experience to forecast future developments in video delivery as well as the financial industry.

Job Accountabilities:

  •  Oversee an annual project-based budget for services, support, and capital spending, with a focus on business efficiency
  • Manage ongoing vendor relationships and large-scale projects for video production and distribution
  • Serve as administrator of video environments, including DAM system, global video production environment, social video outlets, and online video platform, and act as technical liaison to IT, Information Security, and web teams for video-related issues
  • Ensure success of high-end live streaming productions both internally and externally, such as All Employee Meetings (internal) and Customer Forums (external)
  • Advise on video distribution and syndication strategies for external and enterprise audiences, working closely with clients to ensure video initiative success metrics are met; provide analytical feedback for benchmarking video strategy success

Technical Skills required include:



  • Minimum 5-7 years in global digital video administration and distribution, and minimum of 3-5 years in video production and administering video production environments
  • Applicant should be familiar with Quantum or equivalent Digital Asset Management (DAM) system administration
  • Adobe CC production tools
  • Brightcove Online Video Platform (OVP)
  • Enterprise webcasting software
  • Experience in Broadcast technologies and software
  • Knowledge of HTML/HTML5/CSS/JavaScript preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of XML, API, QuickTime formats, MPEG-2, H.264, HDTV concepts is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of OTT / streaming media is strongly preferred
  • Must be highly computer literate, showing a remarked proficiency in: MS Windows OS and MacOSX
  • Must be fluent with all basic MS Windows Office components (Word, Excel, Visio)
