Northern Trust Asset Management is a nearly trillion dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realize their long-term objectives. Reporting to the Manager of the Investment Performance Team, within the COO organization of Northern Trust Asset Management, this individual will assist in developing, implementing, and supporting attribution reporting to use internally and to provide to clients. This individual will lead the maintenance, calculation and reporting of composite performance and reporting, in adherence with GIPS standards, for the Firm’s investment strategies.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Member of a team focused on achieving excellence in Investment Performance and Reporting for a nearly trillion dollar global asset management firm. Day to day responsibilities include:
  • Works closely with the Global Strategic Product and Investment Management team to define, develop, implement and support attribution reporting across multi, complex product offerings
  • Serves in a leadership role for maintaining, calculating and reporting composite performance for the Firm’s investment strategies adhering to GIPS rules
  • Help leads the annual GIPS verification process
  • Assists the sales and servicing team in providing data to respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new business initiatives
  • Identifies and implements improvements to existing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity
  • Participates in committee meetings or meetings with Sr. Management and may be asked to assist preparing information for those meetings and/or present at those meetings
  • Help leads initiatives that may be large in scope, cross-functional and complex
  • Mentors and participates in training of new analysts and junior analysts

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • In-depth knowledge of performance measurement and attribution calculation methodologies
  • Well verse on GIPS 2020 standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with accuracy
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences
  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Services is required; Asset Management experience highly preferred
  • CFA, and/or CIPM designation preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Familiarity with Investment Management applications and systems such as Aladdin Blackrock, Eagle, Bloomberg and FactSet preferred
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools
