A 10-week summer internship position with Ventas IT Service Desk and Application teams for rising college seniors looking to gain technology-related experience on a full-time basis. The IT Intern will have the opportunity to gain expertise in technology and develop their capabilities by joining the lean, fast-paced IT group of a leading real estate investment trust.
The Intern will assist IT staff in support of software, hardware, network and other technological tasks and issues. This real-world practical experience will be a valuable step-up for graduates entering the workforce.
Candidates will be smart, team players, anxious to learn and work hard, and willing to contribute as integral part of a company with a very strong track record of success.
Responsibilities
Assist with response to user requests, along with computer software and hardware issues
Troubleshoot issues with equipment such as laptops, peripheries, mobile devices, and printers
Image, configure and deploy laptop computers
Set up technology for employee use, including hardware and software
Complete IT tasks related to employee onboarding, change of role and separation
Help manage IT asset receiving, deployment, recovery, inventory and recycle
Participate in team, departmental and company-wide meetings
Completing ad-hoc projects, analysis, reports or other requests as needed
Assist in creating and executing QA scripts and update the database tables using SQL script
Qualifications
Currently enrolled junior at an accredited college or university in a relevant course of study or MBA program with a minimum GPA of 3.5
Successful completion of several courses while in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
Familiarity with at least one programming language preferably T-SQL, C# or Python
Familiarity with technology systems, including Windows, VPN, Web browsers, wired and wireless networks, mobility, and printing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
Ability to work with deadlines and manage multiple tasks and relationships within a fast-paced, team-oriented, and lean environment
Confident self-starter and quick learner who requires minimal supervision, is comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable
Strong written and oral communication skills
Service-oriented and able to learn techniques to best serve colleagues and business.
Must be able to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during Summer 2021
