The Regional Consultant (internal wholesaler) position is a fast paced, challenging sales role for self-motivated and driven sales professionals.

Within GSAM, Third Party Distribution (TPD) is responsible for serving clients and driving sales via financial intermediaries including banks, broker/dealers, independent financial advisors, RIAs, retirement platforms, insurance companies and asset managers. As part of Third Party Distribution, the Bank Team delivers comprehensive asset management offerings to banks, trust companies, asset managers and hedge funds. Offerings include GSAM's equity, fixed Income, liquid alternatives, private placements, structured notes, and liquidity solutions. The Bank Channel's goal is to be the premier liquidity and wealth management provider to our clients by offering world class investment solutions, superior thought leadership tools, and pre-eminent client service.

Regional Consultants within the U.S. Bank Team are responsible for our calling efforts within various segments within banks, asset managers, and hedge funds including capital markets, corporate trust, personal trust, private wealth management and retirement. In this role, you are dedicated to increasing the sales of GSAM money market funds, mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts and alternative investments through regular telephone presentations. These conversations should increase a client's knowledge and awareness of GSAM products and services. In coordination with the Regional Directors, the Regional Consultant is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with global banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and exchanges. Product responsibilities will range from liquidity and fixed income to equities, ETFs, and alternative solutions. Based in Chicago, the majority of client interaction for this role is by telephone with limited travel.

• Collaborate with internal Sales (Regional Consultants) and external sales (Regional Directors) to grow assets and market share by executing on the GSAM value proposition
• Make proactive telephone sales presentations to top tier investment professionals highlighting GSAM products and value proposition
• Conduct extensive discovery with clients and prospects to understand their business, end-clients and investment process to uncover needs and position GSAM products and services to meet those needs
• Provide portfolio construction and practice management support to bank clients to help them strengthen their client relationships and grow their business
• Arrange and moderate portfolio management meetings/calls with clients and prospects
• Generate and interpret comparative analysis reports to better position GSAM portfolio solutions
• Coordinate with Client Service Team and Operations to help facilitate sales/new business
• Deliver consistent follow up with investment professionals to advance the sales process and deepen bank relationships
• Demonstrate organized, efficient and effective project management and phone skills on a consistent basis

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 2 years of financial services industry or sales experience
• Strong academic background
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Strong interest in sales and the financial markets
• Series 7 and 63 registration licensed or obtained within 3 months of employment
