Our lean, fast paced Company is seeking an Analyst to join the energized Corporate Finance team which comprises Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Investor Relations. Located in Chicago, the Analyst, Corporate Finance will be responsible for delivery of external facing reporting including the Ventas Supplemental Report. This role will also support the Ventas Corporate Model by producing various forecasting inputs and relevant ad hoc reporting and analysis. The role is highly visible and will include exposure to the SVP, Corporate Finance and Ventas CFO. Corporate Finance team members receive strong foundational experience in real estate, REITs and transactions enabling successful careers at Ventas along with a track record of admission to top business schools (incl. Booth, Harvard and Kellogg).
Responsibilities
Support the development of enterprise level financial projections (e.g. Ventas Corporate Model)
Create and maintain models, tools and templates to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency of financial projections
Produce and improve model inputs and forecasts for joint ventures investments, G&A and other corporate items
Coordinate and produce the Ventas Quarterly Supplemental Report
Responsible for the accuracy and efficacy of highly visible reporting
Manage cadence of deliverables for inputs and contributors across the organization
Adhere to and create controls to ensure timely and accurate information
Critical assessment of results and reporting to ensure accuracy and consistency across disclosures
Foster collaboration and partnership across multiple teams including FP&A, Accounting, Asset Management and Investments
Coordinate and produce the Consolidated Capital Expenditure Model
Responsible for reporting rhythms and consolidation model, constantly enhancing value and efficiency
Compile key inputs and variance explanations across departments including Acquisitions, Construction & Development and Asset Management
Produce key reporting outputs including sensitivities and ad hoc analysis
Financial Analysis and Reporting
Assist with the creation of presentations including Board of Directors and Audit Committee materials
Work directly with Corporate finance team members including SVP on critical projects and deliverables
Work directly with SVP, Corporate Finance on reporting to Executive Compensation Committee
Provide general analytic support as needed
Support strategic initiatives
Relentless improvement of all applicable processes and systems
Support various ongoing and upcoming automation projects
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar business field
1-3 years of public accounting, financial analysis or investment banking experience preferred
Solid analytical skills and quantitative skills
Team player with good communication skills
General accounting knowledge with a stronger familiarity of financial statements
Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills; Proficiency using PowerPoint and Word
Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, along with strong, organization skills and comfortable with ambiguity
Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive information
Highly motivated, takes initiative and requires minimal supervision (will receive mentorship from SVP, Head of Corporate Finance and Director)
