The Director of Operations will be responsible for creating a team structure which supports operational excellence and cross-training. The role is also responsible for ensuring operational risks are appropriately managed and for providing key support to product development initiatives.
Lead and execute operations processes in support of the Managed Account, Fiduciary Services and Custom Models services
Contribute to the success of the products by working with service providers and functional areas within Morningstar
Run all operations functions and resources, with a focus on continuous process improvement, automation and use of global operations support model.
Partner with Client Solutions segment and Business Development and Sales leaders to determine if and how Morningstar should pursue opportunities
Coordinate with Product Managers to align operations with product services
Drive process automation through robotic process automation (RPA)
Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Lead and mentor team members and support career growth and continuous learning
Experienced leader with team-building ability.
A minimum of three to five years of management experience is preferred.
Customer-oriented with a strong service mentality.
Strong oral and written presentation skills, as well as experience presenting to external clients.
Motivated, self-starter with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management, organization, documentation, project management, and SOP creation skills
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
Excellent attention to detail
The candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, exhibit a passion for innovation, and harbor a genuine belief in, and acceptance of Morningstar`s core values.
Nice to have
A MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree/accreditation is strongly helpful
Knowledge of industry rules and regulations, especially the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, and Securities Exchange Act of 1934 is desirable
