Description Position Description: The Configuration Management Engineer III supports the Configuration Management environment at CME Group, primarily in the areas of applications version control and build management. The incumbent must have a solid understanding of Configuration Management methodologies, comfortable with SCM processes for troubleshooting applications. Strong communication skills are required as the candidate will typically be working with customers for support and new initiatives.
Key responsibilities: - Demonstrates knowledge of intermediate scripting, as well as writing scripting modules and tests with guidance.
- Shows ability in intermediate administration of SCM tool and supporting infrastructure.
- Administer Code version control tool and supporting infrastructure.
- Maintain build environment for QA and Continuous Integration builds.
- Develop scripts to automate processes in the CM environment and implement new features requested by customers
- Provide end user support to development and QA teams for SCM tools.
Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years' experience in Software Configuration Management
- SDLC knowledge and comfortable with SCM best practices and processes
- Experience in Unix/Linux environments
- Experience developing scripts in Python and Shell
- Software Build management experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
