This is an office-based position and for the effective performance of this role, the duties and responsibilities must be carried out onsite.
An Analyst Sales Trader is responsible for learning all aspects of the Sales Trader role including, but not limited to: client relationship building, the importance of a client, client service, the importance of developing a long term relationship to drive business growth, market knowledge and commentary, what drives markets locally and globally, macro and micro-economic environment, how stock markets works, the life cycle of a program/trade, how other trading departments (e.g operations) are integral to a successful client relationship. This role assists the team in reaching necessary team deliverables. •Researches what is driving the stock market and contributes thoughts/ideas to the daily morning pre-market call after having checked with the Senior Sales Trader
•Helps produce a morning and post-market note incorporating all relevant news
•Shadows Senior Sales Traders to learn the Sales Trading role and what this encompasses •Accepts/processes/executes programs/trades from front to back, including client and trading interaction.
•Understands and can explain TCA/best execution reports
•Learns how Brokerage and Capital Markets fits within the wider Northern Trust organization
•Develops knowledge on all asset classes; Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives
•Passes all relevant exams in a timely fashion
Qualifications •A financial related degree is preferred but not essential.
•A solutions driven, personable individual
•Has a basic understanding of finance or financial markets is preferred but not essential
•Applies general knowledge of business developed through education
•Shares information, asks questions and checks for understanding
•Pro-active approach towards own development
•Series 7 and Series 63 required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment in the role
