Market Risk Analyst

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines seeks a Market Risk Analyst to conduct analysis of interest rate risk and asset/liability management of the Bank's financial position utilizing complex financial models. Others duties include analyzing and updating market environments data for interest rate models.

Responsibilities:
*Support the month-end valuation, Value at Risk calculation and income simulation; Analyze and review Production results. Conduct ad-hoc analysis in relation to market risk.
*Support in preparation of committee materials, compliance reports, and other reports related to the Bank's market risk exposure.
*Support the daily mortgage asset pricing, daily MPF loan commitment hedging processes and QRM market preparation.
*Maintain and enhance market risk related models, processes and End-User Computing (EUC) applications.
*Analyze the reasonableness behind investment price changes and follow up with vendors about price abnormality for FAS 115 & 133.
*Support and Implement recommendations/findings related to market risk.
*Monitor departmental regulatory issues and internal controls.

Qualifications:
*Advanced degree in finance, economics, mathematics, and statistics or other quantitative/computing fields and/or equivalent work experience.
*Strong analytical and computer skills in Access, Excel and Word. Programming skills preferred.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Experience in financial analysis dealing with complex financial instruments and derivatives is preferred.
*Must be a team player with good oral and written communication skills.
