Job Description
Corporate Overview:
SunTrust Robinson Humphrey is the full-service corporate and investment banking arm of SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI), one of the nation's largest banking organizations. Founded more than 100 years ago, we offer large-firm capabilities in a boutique culture and value our vibrant workplace that reflects the diversity of the many communities we serve. We pride ourselves on the career development of our employees. You'll work alongside senior-level management on real deals right from the start. We encourage and reward you to take an active role in helping our clients achieve their goals.

Job Description:
SunTrust Robinson Humphrey's Investment Banking Analyst Program begins with up to seven weeks of classroom instruction that consists of an introduction to capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems and financial modeling training designed to give Analysts all the tools they will need to be successful. After the classroom training, Analysts join a group within Asset Finance and play a meaningful role in supporting senior investment banking professionals.

Placements will be within one of our four Asset Finance groups: Asset Based Lending, Asset Securitization, Equipment Finance, Structured Real Estate. Our Asset Finance Group delivers a wide range of financing solutions. We combine market-leading structuring expertise with detailed industry insights and broad distribution capabilities to design a customized strategy that best meets our client's needs. Analysts will work closely with senior Asset Finance professionals to help drive the growth of the business.

• Asset Based Lending:
Asset Based Lending is recommended for Analysts with an interest in commercial and corporate lending supported by a company's working capital and fixed assets. As an Analyst, you would contribute to the Origination function of the group while also gaining exposure to the structuring, execution, and syndication of loans as they are taken to market. Analysts will work with senior professionals in developing models, internal screening materials, and external pitch materials which provide analysis of our clients' credit and collateral performance. Analysts should have strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.

• Asset Securitization:
The Asset Securitization Group provides highly structured debt capital solutions to growing companies across a variety of industries. The transactions ASG executes involve: (1) arranging asset-backed revolving loans for our clients funded directly by SunTrust and other bank partners; and (2) helping the Bank's clients issue bonds known as "asset-backed securities" to institutional investors. Analysts in ASG learn the basic principles of structuring these transactions and work directly with senior bankers on each phase of the engagement life cycle including pitching to new clients, closing live deals and managing existing client relationships. These engagements will involve a variety of day-to-day work functions such as using Excel to model cash flows and organize complex data sets into actionable material, compiling information on the asset-backed securities market from Bloomberg and other sources to create client-facing presentations, attending meetings and calls with clients, investors, and other banks, reviewing complex legal documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the terms of each transaction and appropriately protects investors, analyzing company financial statements to project future performance and assess default risk, and producing credit memorandums to present prospective deals to senior members of SunTrust's risk organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), understand basic principles of financial statement analysis, possess solid written and oral communication skills, and be unflinchingly willing to learn.

• Equipment Finance:
The Equipment Finance Group (EFG) provides equipment financing solutions to clients in the commercial and public sectors, nationwide. Analysts will support the Origination and Capital Markets teams, playing a meaningful role in market analysis, new business development, due diligence, structuring and execution. Analyst will work with senior professionals to identify and evaluate opportunities, create pitch books, compile deals screens, price transactions and draft offering memoranda.

• Structured Real Estate:
The Structured Real Estate (SRE) group is a premier full-service real estate investment platform that provides unique capital to support client financing objectives and broader real estate strategies. Analysts will support the origination and structuring/execution teams, playing a meaningful role in corporate finance analysis, new business development, due diligence, structuring and execution. Analysts will work with senior professionals to identify and evaluate opportunities, create pitch books, develop models, create internal screening materials, evaluate equity investments in real estate, and draft offering memoranda.

The AFG Analyst position is typically a two-year position. At the end of the two-year period, Analysts may be asked to remain in the role for an additional year.
