Looking for an Opportunity to join GTE Financial in a Mortgage Quality Control Manager role?

GTE Financial is looking for an organized, professional, analytical individual to join as a Quality Control Manager. GTE Financial 's Quality Control Manager (MHL) supports our organization's goal of creating investment-grade mortgages that are consistent with the policies and standards of our investors, regulators, and the credit union. This person is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Control Plan defines the credit union's standards and commitment to quality control with sufficient processes and resources in place to effectively monitor, remediate, and achieve those standards. A major goal of the quality control program is the early identification of errors and deficiencies in the originations and servicing processes that are negatively impacting loan quality. The quick identification and remediation of deficiencies lead to accelerated changes and helps to reduce or minimize future errors.

What does GTE look for in a Quality Control Manager?

Collaboration:

  • Coordinate and oversee the selection and performance of any vendor used in the Mortgage Quality Control process to ensure that reviews are conducted in a manner consistent with our QC Plan.
  • Identify & communicate the cause and source of reoccurring loan defects with the objective of eliminating or reducing errors through process improvement or additional training.
  • Ensure that GTE's Quality Control Program includes a review for fraud and misrepresentation and help promote the importance of vigilance by all MHLP associates.
  • Establish a culture of quality while instilling operational discipline throughout the production process.
  • Ensure that our QC program includes a documented written plan that establishes standards for quality with included systems and processes for achieving those standards.
  • Ensure that all Pre- and Post-Close loan QC reviews are performed consistent with agency, investor, regulatory, and credit union guidelines and standards. These standards include loan selection parameters, scope of review, and timeliness of completed reviews.
  • Provide effective and timely reporting which are critical for an effective QC program. Reports will provide feedback to senior managers on the quality of our loan origination process helping to identify areas of concerns and opportunities to improve loan quality and efficiency.
  • Complete FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, NCUA and other audit requests within the allocated time frame.
  • Participate in monthly meeting with MHLP operational managers to provide feedback on mortgage quality trends, review recent QC reports, and help identify areas of concern in the mortgage origination or servicing processes that may exist.

Leadership:

  • Serve as lead resource for MHL QC to other team members and provide guidance in the absence of the VP - Assurance & Consulting Services.
  • Make recommendations to enhance policies and procedures to align with GTE business needs, FHA, VA, and GSE requirements.
  • Stay current and adhere to investor and governmental regulations and guidelines in the overall sale and servicing of the mortgage portfolio; this includes but not limited to RESPA, FEMA, Homeowners Protection Act, FNMA, and FHLMC.
  • Act as a liaison to all levels of management, investors, vendors, and auditors.

Operational:

  • Have or develop a thorough knowledge of the current core system, DNA, the Encompass mortgage origination system, and other mortgage-related systems and applications.
  • Possess the ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex issues.
  • Demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial •Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years progressive mortgage experience with exposure to multiple facets of mortgage lending including underwriting, processing, and/or secondary marketing.
  • Prior Quality Control and management experience preferred.

Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters (with some remote work flexibility)

Department Hours:
Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
