Overview of Wealth Management

As the Wealth Management division of Private Wealth and Commercial Clients, our focus is to deliver a boutique wealth management experience while leveraging the vast resources available as being part of a global, universal bank. We have been serving the interests of ultra-high net worth individuals, families and select institutions for more than a century.

Overview of Client Onboarding Group (COG)

The COG serves as a centralized team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) designed to centralize and streamline the client onboarding process for Wealth Management Americas. As a group of SMEs in the Know Your Client (KYC) policy, as well as New Account Opening (NAO) procedures, the COG will work to enhance the onboarding experience for our clients by working hand in hand with the Front Office (FO) Relationship Management team, while remaining compliant with all required regulatory and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures.

COG will be an SME in Appway, a global onboarding application. The COG are the first team to utilize that application and are serving a critical role to testing and implementing the application.

Experience:

  • Must be able to oversee and manage the team's workflow, reprioritize frequently, and to serve as the escalation point regarding inquiries regarding onboarding, KYC, AML, and workflow procedures
  • Previous experience in Client Onboarding, Compliance, Audit, Risk or other Regulatory Function with a proven history of management
  • Experience with AML, KYC and BSA risk issues for Private Banks preferred
  • Prior experience with validation of tax documentation is a plus
  • Prior Wealth Management experience is a big plus

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of onboarding specialists, with duties including monitoring and managing request queue, escalation of process issues, and liaison with the FO to ensure satisfaction
  • Apply knowledge of KYC and Onboarding policies to process flows in order to reduce errors and bottlenecks
  • Ensure COG and KYC team workload is proportioned correctly, with the ability to step in and assist as needed
  • Regularly liaise with Front Office and Compliance to identify areas of improvement
  • Perform regular quality assurance of team's work
  • Deliver accurate metrics for audits, escalations, and investigations on KYC issues as needed
  • Prepare and maintain detailed metrics and performance indicators on team productivity
  • Work well with Bankers / front office
  • Collaborate with AFC/Compliance on KYC issues
  • Have an understanding of global AML/KYC policy
  • Push back with accurate business justification
  • Be comfortable with regular management reporting

Skills Required:

  • Experience managing both people and processes
  • Strong knowledge of how Trusts, LLCs, Partnerships, Corporations, etc. are organized
  • Working knowledge of Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds is a plus
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and time pressure for quick turnaround with a desire to go above and beyond to satisfy our clients
  • Knowledge of AML policies governing banks; KYC guidelines; BSA, U.S.A. PATRIOT Act, etc
  • Ability to reach out and work independently with cross-functional team members in a global matrix environment, ability to take on more responsibilities / challenges and flexible to change especially regulatory landscape
  • Strong experience in project management with proven record of delivery and management reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, with staff management skills
  • Ability to handle daily escalations, act swiftly to change, and lead a positive and professional team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel (Macros, Pivots, Lookups, etc.) and Power Point

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Legal Degree a plus

Certifications and Licenses:

  • CAMS preferred
  • FINRA 7 and 63, plus 9/10 or 24 preferred (or willing to take exams within 6 months)
