The Financial Analyst III performs financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting for the Cards & Unsecured Lending line of business under the guidance of financial management. In addition, the candidate provides highly specialized financial consulting and analytical support for new partnership deals, portfolio acquisitions, marketing programs, and segment level profitability. Identifies emerging financial trends, key performance metrics, and factors for success to aid the line of business in achieving financial return targets. The successful candidate for this position will be a high performing, individual contributor with strong analytical and communication skills with experience in delivering value added business analysis and advice. Requirements
•Conducts complex financial analysis and projections for existing and potential Credit Card & Unsecured Lending products and programs.
•Provides financial, analytical, planning, and forecasting expertise to assist in the development and completion of business initiatives with understanding of the whole financial function and the key business areas supported.
•Focus is on the complete Income Statement for lending products, programs, or business segments with insight to components that have greater complexity (e.g., Expenses, Revenue, Volumes and their underlying drivers).
•Creates specialized analytical tools & repositories for projects or ongoing use to determine portfolio level profitability as well as per account lifetime values.
•Lead or collaborate on special projects that leverage the candidate's expertise in financial, technical and communication skills.
•Tests assumptions and predicts results of business initiatives through building of financial and business forecasting models.
•Develops analyses of performance and predictive data to generate analytical reports and presentations highlighting insights.
•Provide recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvements. Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position. Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Business or progressive work experience in addition to:
•5-7 years related experience required.
•In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, financial model-building and interpretive statistics with strong technical skills (Excel, SAS, Essbase)
•Ability to employ complex analytical tools and statistics to perform analysis and forecasting of financial and other business performance information.
•Capable of planning, developing, leading, and executing analytics projects.
•Able to effectively interpret information, select appropriate techniques, and communicate findings & recommendations to achieve objectives.
•Strong interpersonal and consultative skills with well-developed communication and presentation abilities (written and verbal).
•Manage competing priorities and make good decisions based on business priorities and objectives.
•Practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies.
•Knowledge of accounting and the associated rules and regulations.
•Preferred: Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills, financial services experience, data modeling and query expertise: SAS, SQL, Essbase; experience with Credit Cards, VBA, Alteryx or Tableau a plus. Hours
