A leading Investment Bank is determined to hire an expert in the credit card space at the Director-level to oversee the firm's existing customer management strategy. The bank is heavily invested in its credit card business and is now a top ten issuer globally, making improved existing customer management initiatives a top priority.

A leading Investment Bank is determined to hire an expert in the credit card space at the Director-level to oversee the firm's existing customer management strategy. The bank is heavily invested in its credit card business and is now a top ten issuer globally, making improved existing customer management initiatives a top priority.

At a high-level, the position is going to offer extremely high exposure, as you will be reporting directly to the Head of Credit Strategy and Managing Director of Payments Risk. This role will allow you to have a direct influence on the general business decision making while also directly managing a team of managers and analysts to help drive strategy. The bank is specifically looking for a subject matter expert in the space who will be able to provide strategy oversight for the US consumer portfolio, adequately asses large-scale wholesale exposures, implement stress-tests, and effectively challenge the first line to ensure risk-appetite compliance. In addition, you will directly lead and mentor a team of managers and analysts to help drive the card business' strategy for existing customer management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and provide credit strategy oversight for the existing customer management function and ensure that said strategies are implemented according to the bank's risk appetite
  • Lead a team of managers and analysts to monitor portfolio exposure, develop necessary credit analytics and credit risk models, and recruit talent when appropriate
  • Ensure that there are strong and effective risk management processes in the second line of defense
  • Provide monitoring of the consumer portfolio and ensure that strategies align with credit policy

Qualifications:

  • Experience in multiple areas of the credit cycle relative to the function of risk management
  • 10+ years of financial services experience
  • Experience designing effective control frameworks and mitigating risk performance issues
  • At least 2 years of direct existing customer management experience
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team
  • Expert knowledge of credit cards, consumer portfolios, and credit risk
  • The ability to translate analytics into optimal strategy
