Job Description

The Sr Mgr Competitive Intelligence for Products & Payments is responsible for the understanding of Customer needs and continuous improvement of assigned company products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet Customer needs and are priced to meet the company profit and loss objectives for the US Payments team.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains expertise in banking and FI knowledge, including insights into their product, digital and distribution strategies
• Creates ongoing artifacts to track longitudinal performance of competitor FIs - including quarterly earnings etc.
• Has the ability to discern patterns behind the FI information and ability to connect disparate data, creating insight instead of reporting
• Possesses the ability to communicate these insights to senior leadership and create value by informing their decision making and thoughts
• Assertively impacts TDs strategy with these insights to keep us focused on being best-in-class across financial services

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Lead all US based market research insights in support of assigned portfolios, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise to portfolio design / methodological recommendations.
• Proactively provide internal partners with new insights driven by innovation and data integration
• Leverage strong business consulting skills to help internal clients achieve their business objectives
• Effectively communicate results to business partners and provide actionable recommendations based on business-focused analysis
• Ensure a high level of service by setting clear standards and continuously seek out and assess the effectiveness of existing and new insight techniques and approaches
• Aggregate and synthesize research findings and analysis with other Customer Knowledge sources in order to contribute to the pursuit of actionable customer insights.
• Recommend/champion possible enhancements to increase efficiencies, resolve issues and better serve business needs
• Build and manage the development and coaching of a high quality and well-respected team of specialists and experts
• Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, learning and knowledge with internal and external business partners and suppliers

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 10+ Years of related professional experience in customer insights, management consulting, brand / product management, or business strategy
    • Experience and expertise in agile research approaches, leveraging panels, online/mobile, prototype research, usability, user experience research, concept development and testing
    • Strong business acumen and business consulting skills
    • Proven ability to think strategically
    • Ability to move easily between strategic and tactical activities
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to influence
    • Proven ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
    • Confident when interacting with and influencing senior management
    • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills
    • Highly organized, able to multi-task successfully, detail oriented and able to work under tight deadlines
