About this role

Global Performance and Accounting - Accounting Services and Oversight - Associate

Business Operations ("Bus Ops") is responsible for the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. Bus Ops establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, accounting agents, prime brokers, broker-dealers and other vendors and is responsible for managing BlackRock's relationships.  Global Performance and Accounting ("GPA") is a unit within Bus Ops.
Within GPA, Accounting Services and Oversight, in part, is responsible for the oversight of accounting service providers for BlackRock's US and CAD Mutual Funds, Americas iShares and BTC Collective Investment Funds as well as providing strategic product support for other teams throughout BlackRock.


• The Accounting Services and Oversight Associate will assist in all functions focusing on the daily accounting oversight of the mutual funds, iShares and collective investment funds
• Conduct daily and monthly functions using appropriate controls in accordance with the funds accounting and procedural policies including accounting reconciliation oversight, review of fund performance against benchmarks and oversight of fund expenses
• Participate and lead in the coordination of a products life cycle implementation (fund launches, mergers, in-kinds and liquidations)
• Partner with custodians, counterparties, accounting providers and other vendors, including various internal departments to resolve operational, valuation and accounting issues
• Communicating with all levels of management
• Complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner
• Set or refine priorities as business needs change
• Develops broad expertise, capabilities and perspective to lead function

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 3 to 6 years of equivalent work experience in the fund accounting industry
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in Mutual Fund Accounting, Administration or Audit preferred
  • Mutual fund regulatory, GAAP and tax knowledge preferred
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
