The Financial Data Reporting Analyst will report to the Director of Reporting & Learning to develop reporting and dashboards in Planful and F9 as well as Tableau and other graphical data software for the Financial Analysis team. The primary focus of this position will be on publishing and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for programs across the Institute.

Department Description: The Reporting & Learning Unit (R&LU) is one of 3 units in the Office of Financial Operations (OFO). R&LU is responsible for development of and dissemination of all reporting and dashboarding for the Institute, including programs, departments, senior leadership and the Board of Trustees. As well as providing financial training for system users and preparing special analysis as requested.

Basic Function: The primary responsibilities of the Financial Systems Analyst in supporting, enhancing, and continued development of our ERP Systems: Planful, Netsuite, Concur, UKG Pro & Dimensions; and the integrations with other platforms, including Salesforce to Netsuite.

Essential Duties

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the point of contact for all financial systems, supporting The Office of Financial Operations team managing enhancement requests, and basic system administration.
  • Manages financial system configuration and users set up.
  • Maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with Office of Financial Operations, ITS, and users of all financial systems.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to users' questions or issues with financial systems.
    • Ensuring continuity of current systems, while recommending improvements/new solutions concurrent with Institute's growth.
    • Works closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to investigate, analyze and resolve system issues encountered by users.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for the Directors in the Office of Financial Operations in analysis and reporting.
  • In consultation with OFO leadership, creates and disseminates reports to staff via dashboards and for use in financial reporting to funders.
  • Work with VP Finance to develop annual budget process; includes gathering necessary budgetary assumptions and information, and building into system.
  • Creates and improves existing reports and dashboards using a variety of business intelligence tools
  • Coordinates implementation of system updates and improvements. This includes organizing testing and monitoring results to assess effectiveness of improvements.
  • Assists in development, documentation, implementation and training of systems and processes.
  • Flexibility to work on special projects and unexpected assignments while completing routine tasks on a timely basis.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

The Financial Systems Analyst will work closely with the Director of Accounting &Treasury and the Director of the Reporting & Learning Unit, VP of Finance, and financial systems users. Position also serves as secondary liaison with Planful, NetSuite, and third-party vendors associated with financial systems.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting, IT systems, or Finance, or relevant work experience
  • 2 – 4 years of work experience in Finance/Systems analysis.
  • Previous experience with Oracle systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  • Track record of handling multiple tasks and maintaining perspective and positive can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles
