Spectrum Asset Management, Inc. is seeking top talent to join our team as a Portfolio Administration and Client Service Associate in our Stamford, Connecticut office.  Spectrum is a dual registered institutional RIA/Broker-Dealer with over $23 billion in assets under management and manages portfolios of preferred and capital securities for an international universe of corporate, pension fund; insurance and endowment clients; open-end and closed-end mutual funds domiciled in the United States, Ireland and Japan, and separately managed account programs for high net worth individual investors sponsored by a variety of broker-dealers.


Job Summary:

Must be able to attend to day-to-day details while maintaining a strategic, analytical focus on the big picture.


In this role you will work as part of a team focused on portfolio administration, client service, performance reporting, marketing, and compliance monitoring, and interact daily with all areas of the firm.


Accountabilities:
• Utilize your strong organizational and communication skills to manage and facilitate client reporting process flow on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis; coordinate and consolidate responses to requests for proposals from multiple areas of the firm; and research, compile and disseminate information to aid the portfolio, credit research, and marketing teams
• Utilize your broad analytic skills to monitor and maintain client account performance and attribution reporting, internal composites, benchmarks and indices; design, test, monitor, and internally report upon portfolio guideline compliance rules; analyze and maintain market constituents, AUM, AUM flows, and other strategic data for the firm; support and maintain data interfaces between systems; and provide relevant data and information for performance verification and audit requests
• Utilize your interpersonal skills to be a strategic liaison between clients and the portfolio and credit teams; communicate and disseminate information to clients and affiliated sales and marketing teams regarding portfolio, credit and market performance; liaise with clients and affiliated sales and marketing teams with respect to data, marketing support, and ad hoc data and information requests; and interface with clients and affiliated compliance personnel regarding portfolio compliance and coordination

• Able and willing to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with and supporting all areas of the firm

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business management, mathematics, or computer science preferred
• 3 years minimum experience in institutional asset management or financial services, or a Master’s degree
• FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days
• Knowledge of fixed income and preferreds
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal desired; experience with Bloomberg AIM, CMGR, and PORT will be given strong consideration

This role will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Administration and Client Service and report indirectly and jointly to the Chief Investment Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer
