The Investment Engine Technology team at Bridgewater engineers systems to understand the world. These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world's most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world's most important capital. Our Critical Infrastructure team provides the core, hybrid-cloud infrastructure technology to enable our Investment Engine business goals and entire company operations. The team is made up of Architects, Engineers and DevOps teams who are building and running all our infrastructure platforms including Cloud Solutions, Physical Data Centers, Networking, Security, Storage, Operating Systems, Databases, and Middleware. Position Responsibilities
The Network Architect is responsible for the overall design and performance of Bridgewater's entire network. You have extensive experience in advanced routing, switching and network virtualization and will develop creative solutions that stand up to rigorous review from peers and technology leaders. You keep abreast of the latest technologies and will be evaluating and recommending available technology tools and processes, providing architectural guidance, assessing existing capabilities, gathering requirements, synthesizing findings, creating and presenting system designs, translating designs into technical solutions, validating solutions in the lab and being a thought leader on the team. This is an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires people who can identify, design and deploy the latest network technologies in creative ways. We are looking for network leaders who think for themselves, have the ability to see multiple solution paths and have the desire and drive to get to the best possible answer. Key Qualifications
Bridgewater Associates Company Overview
- 10+ years of experience in Network Infrastructure Design, Development, Automation and Support
- Experience with networking technologies (Cisco Route/Switch, firewalls, ISE, wireless, load balancing, monitoring, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, EBGP VPN)
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as: Linux, data abstraction and structured data (JSON, YAML, YANG), code management and collaboration (Jira, Confluence, Stash, GitHub), programming and automation (Ansible, Python and REST APIs)
- Familiar with IaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and SDN technologies and vendors
- Desire and ability to quickly learn new technologies, think independently, see multiple possibilities and get to the best answer
