Position summary Are you a data scientist with a strong data engineering background, who specializes in understanding how humans and systems interact with data?
Are you energized to create and expand new capabilities for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning (DL) technology?
We are looking for a data scientist to drive and advance us to the forefront of machine learning, natural language processing, data mining, and visualization, teaming with our software engineers to embed these capabilities into everything we do. As our data scientist collaborator, you will drive innovation by making key decisions in optimizing data pipelines, exploring and discovering value from our data, and creating new revenue opportunities in our customer deliverables.
Engineering and Product Design, as an organization, operates at cutting edge of software development, and we are looking for a dynamic, inspired, and collaborative data scientist to match the agility and innovation of our software engineers.
Requirements Passionate about working with large and complex unstructured and structured data sets.
Ability to identify, customize and train best-in-class machine learning algorithms and models in order to solve for complex data ingest, data pipeline and data mining workflows.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work across functions and effectively present, recommend, and communicate a position by demonstrating its value and trade-offs.
Ability to ramp quickly with the terminology, processes, domain, and business goals.
Capable and willing to do the hands-on heavy lifting of data organization, clean up, and cataloging of the data needed to solve problems. You are a hands-on data expert. Strong database and SQL skills desirable.
Minimum qualifications Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) degree in a computer, engineering or a quantitative discipline
Expertise in Supervised and Unsupervised learning algorithms and techniques.
Programming experience in one or more of the following: Spark, Scala, Python, C#, Java, Spark MLlib, TensorFlow, Azure ML and Cognitive Services.
Expertise in deploying models to cloud environment such as: Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform, etc.
3+ years of relevant work experience in the machine learning space.
Experience with data visualization, statistical software, and database technologies.
Responsibilities: Drive ML solutions
for real world, large scale problems that positively impacts people, products and services.
Work with large, complex data sets
. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
Build and prototype models
iteratively to provide insights at scale. Develop comprehensive understanding of data structures. Interact
cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Work closely with data and software engineers to identify opportunities for, design, and assess improvements.
Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools and models given a data analysis problem. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
