Director - Incident & Continuity Management
This position serves as governance, oversight, reporting, and especially advice/consultation for the role of product, infrastructure, and business operations incident and continuity management governance (Line 2) across the firm, with special emphasis on establishing the thought leadership and framework for a more resilient and recoverable architectures, products, services, and processes for the globally deployed portfolio of IHS Markit product lines, support infrastructures, and site business operations. This includes a key accountability to build a balanced and cost-effective incident response and continuity framework into each business, operating department, and physical site across the globally distributed enterprise. An additional key accountability is to establish and insure a seamless interface between incident management and the declaration of crisis events engaging the Corporate Crisis Management Team and disaster declarations engaging recovery teams and capabilities as required.

This position will also provide coordination and oversight to major business initiatives and new bulge-bracket customer mandates in the areas of incident and continuity management.

The ideal candidate must be highly analytical and possess sufficient technical, resiliency by design, cyber response/recovery, architecture, incident/crisis management, and business continuity management skills and experience to fully understand and mitigate the rapidly evolving global threat landscape impacting customers and other key company stakeholders. This person will also promote an understanding of the impacts emanating from disruptions anywhere within the operations of IHS Markit, its customers, or its third-parties, and the complex inter-dependencies that permit such disruptions to cascade up and down the company's value chain.

The candidate must also be highly consultative in both methods and behaviour with highly refined experience and background to help address an expanding array of customer requirements, strategy and design alternatives, and testing scenarios for incident and continuity management capabilities in an educational and proactive guidance business-supporting approach.

The role will require a high degree of coordination and leadership skills to operate effectively and with influence on architecture, development, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response teams, professionals, and related support resources across the corporation. 

The candidate will need to be an excellent communicator in order to address and drive effective comprehension and actions from personnel at all levels, including senior leadership. Specifically, his/her role must also fully understand and action a risk-based approach to resiliency, continuity, and incident response where senior business leaders are fully appraised of their incident and continuity response risks and alternative methods of mitigation to position them for effective risk-informed decisions.

The role will partner closely with the Corporate Operational Risk team and operational risk and design teams in the various businesses and major business functions to tie risks to the various stages of architecting and developing response and continuity capabilities into the products, services, support infrastructures and processes, and other business operations of the company.

The role will help to recruit and provide subject matter expertise as part of a team of operational resiliency, recoverability, and incident response experts and help coordinate their engagement with businesses across the company and globally. These experts collectively, with resources in IT and the businesses, will facilitate the design, building, testing, and ongoing maintenance of incident and continuity management capabilities for products, services, and processes, based on customer and other stakeholder requirements, and prioritized by the company's most critical business lines and operating departments.
