A creative researcherwho is deeply passionate about design, product, and the end-to-end customerexperience
Able to break downcomplex problems and provide human-centric solutions through excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills
Able to workindependently, quickly, and reliably in a fast-paced, creative environment witha keen attention to detail
Develop an in-depth understanding of SVBs existing UX platforms andcultivate a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors and motivations
Plan and organize research initiatives to to get timelyuser feedback on proposed designs, gather broader insights, document usergoals, needs, motivations and pain points, and make user experiencerecommendations that help SVB create delightful solutions for its customers
Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, andother cross functional stakeholders to understand business objectives, needs,and constraints
Identify research topics and design a variety ofqualitative and quantitative user research activities through ethnographicfield studies, persona development, experience mapping, concept validation,usability testing, eye-tracking and card sorting to generate user insights
Facilitatequalitative user research sessions and collect and analyze user behaviorthrough server logs, online experiments, benchmark studies, and surveys
Synthesize and communicate the results from multiplequalitative and quantitative user research
Document researchresults and producerelevant models, such as personas and experience maps, to communicate userinsights
Articulate andillustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways (including oral, writtenand visual presentations) to fuel ideation and drive new solutions thatdisrupt the financial industry
Solidcommunication, problem solving, collaboration and time management skills
2+ years of experience in product user research andsome examples of past user research work
An understandingof strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when andhow to apply them during each product phase
Experience working with data analytics and A/B testing, andcollaborating with data analysts is preferred
Proficiency inusability testing and research tools and ability to use prototyping tools suchas InVision, Sketch, Visio, etc.
Experience working directly with designers orindividually to develop prototypes for testing and implement resultingrecommendations
Experience designing participant recruiting criteriabased on learning goals to provide to recruiting service providers or internalcustomer recruiting
Knowledge of Design Thinking and UX research methods(contextual inquiry, validation, usability, quantitative) into the productdevelopment and design process
An understanding of interaction design patternsrelated to web and mobile design
Expertise in PowerPoint and collaboration tools suchas WebEx to create engaging presentations
Ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast- paced fluidenvironment
Attention todetail, willingness to do "detective work" as needed
A Bachelorsdegree or equivalent professional experience in human-computer interaction,anthropology, cognitive psychology or another social science field is preferred
Experience in financial services industry supportingthe innovation economy is a plus
