CoStar Group’s Business for Sale marketplaces’ technology platform is being modernized from ground-up (Angular, Microservices, ElasticSearch, AWS, Kafka, and Big Data). To help with that effort, we are looking for a Technical Manager of QA and Release in our San Francisco office. The Technical Manager for QA and Release will be engaged in all phases of the software development lifecycle which include; gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, contribute to the planning and estimating of LOE, writing and testing of features/bugs, and running tests prior to and after deployments ensuring high quality product changes.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with solid hands-on experience in creating a clear and compelling vision for the QA/Release organization as well as building automation tools/infrastructure from the ground-up, including CI/CD. The candidate will create robust comprehensive test plans to verify functionality of the full technology stack and tools supporting functional and browser testing across different devices.


  • Own and drive the implementation of QA and Release organization vision, including merging and branching strategies as well as different testing methodologies.
  • Review and expand our automation testing infrastructure and architect solutions as needed to various business and technical challenges.
  • Lead and manage the QA and Release engineering team members.
  • Drive our end-to-end automation scripts to reduce time spent on repetitive testing tasks.
  • Writing, scheduling and publishing test automation scripts for full stack infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Development and QA engineers to accelerate progress on our test automation goals.


  • Minimum of 7 years of QA experience with a minimum 5 years of hands-on technical management experience, building and leading QA teams.
  • Proficiency with .NET related technologies, Microsoft SQL Server, Build and Deployment technologies in a mixed environment, and/or MySQL.
  • Scrum/Agile experience is a must-have requirement.
  • Release Management experience in a product platform company is essential.
  • Experience in building Continuous Delivery/Delivery on Demand from ground-up in both on-prem and cloud environment is a strong plus.
  • Experience testing at the UI and API-level; knowledge about various test method & corresponding tools like Postman, BrowserStack, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
  • Confirmed understanding of object-oriented programming, design and debugging skills.
  • BS degree in computer science or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
