The Early Stage team is focused on engaging and building authentic relationships with pre-Series A founders, clients, prospects and partners. We are proud that over 50% of all venture-backed companies globally are clients of SVB, and this relationship begins at the Early Stage Practice.The primary responsibility of this Director level role is to enable founder success as a senior evangelist and ambassador for SVB and our clients in market. The ESP team is focused on engaging and building deep and authentic relationships with early stage founders, investors, and ecosystem partners to improve the probability of success of early stage companies around the world. Utilizing data-driven insights, this catalytic member of the team will focus on facilitating access to capital, customers and talent for our market leading startups.
Required startup experience and knowledge base:
Experience as a founder, head of sales, or director of customer success at a venture-funded startup or deep involvement as an operator in the startup ecosystem for 5+ years
Active participation in the startup community, including advisory or mentorship roles with entrepreneurs and early-stage companies
Knowledge of business development, customer acquisition, design thinking methodology, and startup recruitment/talent acquisition best practices
Knowledge of common sales, growth, and revenue generating strategies that drive early stage company success
Ability to serve as a senior brand ambassador
