Provide support to the M&A, Portfolio Management and Finance teams with investment activities, portfolio value creation, financial modelling, and portfolio valuations.

Key accountabilities

  • Support the CPO in Driving Portfolio Synergies and Value Creation Initiatives
  • Support the CPO (Chief Portfolio Officer) directly in identifying and executing cross-portfolio value creation initiatives
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders of ISTARI / Temasek portfolio companies, working with them proactively to identify business improvement/development opportunities
  • Support the CPO in the Quarterly Business Review process

ISTARI’s Financial Model / Budget

  • Working closely with ISTARI C-Suite, Finance, Tax, Legal and M&A team members, maintain ISTARI’s 5-year financial forecast, updating it for new investments and other required changes, as appropriate 
  • Track ISTARI performance against plan   

Portfolio valuations

  • Engage with external valuer (PwC) for annual valuation of the portfolio and when new investments are made
  • Own and maintain the financial models of ISTARI Portfolio Companies, updating forecasts as appropriate and tracking performance vs budget. Provide regular updates and flag key issues to ISTARI Management
  • Manage information flow with external valuer

Investment/M&A related workstreams for ISTARI

  • Work closely with ISTARI's CEO, CPO, CISO, Head of M&A and M&A team to evaluate and execute potential investment opportunities
  • Independently lead key workstreams in support of investment-related business development and evaluation efforts
  • Support presentations to ISTARI's Board / C-suite on investment / M&A related work streams

Ideal Candidate Profile/Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience
  • Strong understanding of and experience with M&A transactions
  • Hands-on portfolio value creation / operating experience a plus
  • Prior experience in at least two of the following sectors:  investment banking, private equity, corporate M&A or consulting

Key skills

  • Ability to work independently and drive transactions/workstreams
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance fundamentals
  • High degree of comfort with presenting and interacting with senior stakeholders at Istari, potential investee companies and ISTARI’s main shareholder
  • Able to work cross-culturally in fast-paced, unstructured team environments
