ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



 



The Investment Writer will be responsible for creating a wide range of content for intermediary and institutional channels across our range of Asian equity and fixed income strategies. Key responsibilities include developing content such as sales brochures, market commentaries and quarterly Fund commentaries. The Investment Writer may also contribute to developing content for campaigns, thought leadership and white papers that support the firm’s brand building initiatives in key markets. This is an opportunity for an outstanding candidate who has a strong interest in developing engaging and impactful investment communications to make a significant contribution to the marketing team.



 



The successful candidate must be a team player, yet self-motivated, possess good investment knowledge and general understanding of the financial markets. The successful candidate will have proven investment writing experience, with an ability to generate content for different channels and international markets. Ideally from an investment management background, they will have strong product knowledge and ability to develop narrative and “story-telling” across different media including print, digital and video. Previous experience of asset management investment writing/editing is beneficial. Individuals with a background in journalism or with experience working in a content-focused product specialist role would also be considered. The candidate will be expected to prioritize and meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills with an ability to work with the investment, distribution and compliance teams.



 



Specific Responsibilities include:



  • Research, organize and write engaging product content including sales brochures / sales aids and portfolio manager commentaries that support our Asian equity and fixed income strategies

  • Contribute to developing content for Fund launches, marketing campaigns and roadshows

  • Write market commentaries and perspective / outlook pieces

  • Write Fund commentaries on a quarterly basis

  • Potentially contribute to developing thought leadership and white papers

  • Create web content and develop content for social media, video and PR opportunities

  • Act as a writing and editing resource to the Marketing team, ensuring high quality and accurate materials are being produced by the company

  • Work closely with stakeholders such as investment, product and distribution teams in order to develop new ideas and ensure alignment on content creation and messaging

  • Ensure consistency in the company’s voice, key messages and editorial style across markets, channels and media

  • Keep up to date with developments in financial markets and maintain a deep understanding of investment communications developed by our peers

  • Edit and proof external communication materials to ensure content has a clear message and consistent tone and style, while ensuring there are no compositional errors, adhere to established standards and uphold the Firm’s brand

  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment for product and non-product information in the U.S. and / or global markets

 



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Business, Communications or Finance 

  • Five plus years of writing experience in the financial services industry with minimum three years of experience as an investment writer, ideally covering both equity and fixed income asset classes

  • Individuals with back ground in journalism or with experience working in a content-focused product specialist or product management role may be considered

 



  •  

  • Good knowledge of financial markets and investment/financial concepts

  • Strong knowledge of investment products with an  ability to generate into thoughtful and engaging written commentary for multiple channels and global markets

  • Proven and exceptional writing skills to help create a wide range of communication materials for  various audiences

  • Demonstrate ability to capture complex ideas and write clear, concise and engaging content across different media including print, digital and video

  • Ability to work at a fast pace with strong attention to detail, highly organized and strong project management skills

  • Ability to prioritize work with competing business initiatives and time constraints

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, both within Marketing as well as other departments, including investment, distribution and compliance teams

  • Ability to maintain sound judgment and professionalism under pressure

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently when necessary

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with all levels at the firm

  • Creativity—able to recommend new and unique ideas
