The Opportunity

As the Head of Performance Marketing, reporting to the ChiefMarketing Officer, you will lead acquisition, lifecycle marketing, andmulti-channel strategies. You will play a critical leadership role in ensuringSVBs Marketing Strategies across segments and sectors are delivered in aconnected, modern and consistent way across channels.

 As a proven andcollaborative digital leader who can drive growth across the entire clientjourney (e.g. acquisition, conversion and engagement), you will balancestrategic vision and operational excellence and demonstrate your ability to bothdevelop an annual strategy and execute daily optimization. You will be able tolead in a highly dynamic and evolving environment. You will inherit andcontinue to develop a function across Channels, Content, Operations, Analyticsand Technology and will bring our cross-segment and corporate marketing effortsto the next level.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provideleadership to delivering and optimizing Performance Marketing efforts, ensuringoperational excellence, and maximizing value from technology investments
  • Establishinggovernance across Marketing to achieve desired client behaviors and businessresults
  • Serve as thestrategic leader and voice for all acquisition, activation and retentioninitiatives (both digital and non-digital)
  • Drivecontinual improvement in our quality, thinking and capabilities
  • Championinnovation to explore new and innovative digital marketing channels, martech andanalytics to successfully grow the business
  • Collaborativelymake choices that impact the success of the marketing function, act as atrusted advisor to the business and other teams, and exercise independentjudgment with respect to matters of significance
  • Routinelymake decisions on the level of investment required to develop the capabilitiesowned by this department
  • Be accountablefor delivering performance marketing across all SVB geographies and businesssegments, including collaboration with EMEA and China teams to support localizedactivation of SVB Brand and Marketing campaigns
People Leadership
  • Proven leaderwith ability to motivate, coach, drive change management, and move teamsforward
  • Demonstrated leadershipin transforming Marketing teams to operate in performance-based digital models
  • Establish andbuild new Marketing Operations, Channel & Content, Marketing Analytics, andTechnology teams
  • Be accountablefor outcomes delivered across the teams and define overall direction
  • Responsiblefor setting people performance measurement goals with each direct report andprovide ongoing performance feedback 
  • Responsiblefor ensuring direct reports set performance measurement goals for indirectreports that align with business objectives
  • Definesuccession planning strategy, including required talent skill development andtraining 
Strategy Development & Governance
  • Serve as the strategic leader and voice for all acquisition,activation and retention initiatives (both digital and non-digital)
  • Collaborate with the Head of Integrated Marketing Strategy tojointly define annual and long-term goals, business plans, strategic long-termroadmap and key decisions
  • Actively engage other Marketing leadership to collaborate andinfluence the brand and experience strategy
  • Establish and champion governance across capabilities owned by PerformanceMarketing teams
  • Drive and enable the team to develop new capabilities associatedwith the implementation roadmap
  • Lead the implementation of Agile ways of working and operatingrhythms across Marketing
Initiative Management
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and ensure consistency in marketinginitiatives and campaigns across several business segments
  • Champion the need to develop demand and capacity forecasts,evaluating volumes, trends and marketing efficiencies
  • Deliver and optimize Performance Marketing efforts, ensuring operationalexcellence, and maximizing value from technology investments
  • Grow marketing analytics capabilities and ongoing optimization analyticsmeasuring business impact
  • Be accountablefor budget across Marketing Operations, Channel & Content, MarketingAnalytics, and Technology teams

As amember of the Marketing Leadership Team, you will embody our Values and demonstratethat commitment in your strategic and day-to-day management anddecisioning.   You will bring 15+ years of progressively responsibleexperience in marketing, demand or lead generation strategy, client retentionstrategy, execution and communication.

Additionally,you will possess:

  • Experience building integrated digital teams, as well as managing thirdparty agencies and partners
  • Experience operating in service-based and digital-based businesses (preferred)
  • 8+ years of relevant leadership experience of marketing teams largerthan 10 people
  • 2+ years of working in Agile delivery
  • Cross-functional leadership experience, working with marketing,product, sales, analytics, creative and finance to drive performance
  • Experience managing large scale projects and overseeing organizationaltransformation efforts with a complex organization

Youwill also bring the following competencies:

  • Collaborative leader who boldly creates and enables cross-functionalteams and works across the SVB enterprise to achieve common goals
  • Demonstrated ability to champion client portfolio growth programs,including insights-based end-to-end journey design
  • Deep marketing acumen, e.g. Marketing Strategy, CX, Measurement,Multi-channel, etc.
  • Outcomes-based measurement with agility, efficacy and efficiency
  • An Agile mindset, ongoing integrated planning and a future lookingroadmap that anticipates modern marketing needs
  • Strong creator and driver of marketing governance
  • Well-versed in project management frameworks and tools, e.g., RACI,project charters, and project plans
