We are looking for a creative, data-driven, and growth-minded leader to champion our search engine optimization (SEO) and content team as we accelerate our ongoing effort to reach the largest audience of entrepreneurs and small business owners, introduce us to new audiences and grow our user base for our online marketplaces. This exciting opportunity will propel the growth of CoStar Groups Business for Sale brands including BizBuySell.com, BizQuest.com, and FindaFranchise.com

Strategist and tactician, this leader will bring significant experience in SEO, content strategy, digital product management, and marketing, and will be one of the companys key digital thought leaders. The role will collaborate with digital marketers, product managers, software developers, and other internal teams to ensure the highest level of discoverability, engagement and action for CoStars Business for Sale content.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop SEO and content strategies with clear prioritized roadmaps to ensure the breakthrough organic traffic growth of every site in our growing network of marketplaces
  • Evangelize the importance of SEO and adhering to SEO best practices within the organization, provide recommendations for improvement of our sites (including site architecture, URL structures, on-page ranking factors, image, video and content optimization, etc.) and oversee the implementation of those recommendations
  • Lead comprehensive content strategy for network of Business for Sale brands including listing and search results pages enhancement, local content, articles, resources, videos and all aspects of their digital presence including paid, earned, owned, and shared
  • Establish frameworks that hold our content activities to high standards of clarity, effectiveness, quality, and style, ensuring that all of our content is on-brand and consistent with each brands voice.
  • Direct and inspire creative conception of breakthrough content ideas through keyword and topic research, brainstorming, research and analysis on user interests
  • Connect the activities and impact of SEO and content through analytics to derive insights to tell a holistic story and drive actionable and data-driven SEO, content, and product strategies and recommendations
  • Partner with our analytics team to launch dashboards and workflow tools that help track and report against the appropriate key performance indicators that demonstrate the effectiveness of the organization's SEO and content efforts.
  • Engage with outside vendors, agencies and consultants as necessary to bolster the capacity and skills required for world class SEO and content performance.
  • Facilitate SEO training sessions to ensure marketing, technical, and product development staff remain current on the latest SEO best practices
  • Build excellent relationships with teammates, and stakeholders across projects and provide guidance, coaching, knowledge sharing, and present solutions
  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of SEO and content professionals

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Marketing, Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or another data-driven field, or specialized professional training or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of dedicated SEO and Content experience for an agency or in-house
  • Experience managing SEO for a large-scale website, ideally an online marketplace focused on lead generation in the real estate or hospitality industries
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of SEO best practices, toolsets, and the latest search engine algorithm updates
  • Ability to provide critical thinking skills to solve problems and think strategically
  • Proven ability to develop strategies and manage projects which will drive organic search traffic to the site; proven track record in managing SEO projects from inception to completion
  • Track record of creating content strategies that align with customer journey, customer psychology, and leverage digital platforms to the fullest extent
  • Ability to drive clear, thoughtful, and comprehensive analyses of SEO and content programs
  • Proven track record assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas, and delivering results and in a fast-paced online environment.
  • Solid data analysis skills and the ability to identify actionable insights from large datasets; strong Excel and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to work closely with both technical (software development) teams as well as a wide variety of key stakeholders across disparate functional areas in the company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable with speaking in front of a wide variety of audiences including company executives.
  • Ability to lead top talent and inspire creativity of team members
  • Agile product management and software development experience. Experience gathering requirements and writing technical specifications and user stories.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools. Experience with enterprise SEO tools such as Moz, SEMRUSH, Conductor, BrightEdge, and with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end web programing languages
