Team Overview:
 
The Client and Portfolio Data (CPD) team, a member of the BlackRock Data Services organization, is responsible for the operational setup and integrity of all client and portfolio onboarding and change activities within BlackRock globally.  Using Aladdin proprietary tools, including aCRM, ADAM, AIS and Delta, the team ensures all clients and BlackRock products are set up with accurate standing data to enable:

  •  Implementation and Client Business teams to deliver a best in class client service experience for new and existing clients
  • Portfolio Managers to fulfill their investment management responsibilities
  • Legal and Compliance teams to comply with regulatory reporting obligations
  • Finance teams to accurately report on BlackRock’s Assets Under Management
 
We are seeking a new team member in our San Francisco office, who understands the importance of quality data and strives to maintain its integrity across systems. This role is a great opportunity to apply your knowledge of the investment management business across multiple asset classes, and demonstrate ability to analyze information, ask questions and draw conclusions.
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Setup and maintain client and portfolio attributes for new clients and portfolios in appropriate systems, including test, operational and portfolios used for revenue and AUM
  • Implement amendments to existing client / fund mandates and related portfolios
  • Ensure client requirements reflected in the contract or other legal documents are accurately reflected and maintained in the standing data systems
  • Maintain, cleanse and update records within the CRM systems utilized by BlackRock's Global Institutional and Retail sales channels. This could include researching information across a variety of data sources, working with internal client support groups to create data structures and connecting the client to the appropriate client firm
  • Exception monitoring of client and portfolio attributes via dashboard tools
  • Respond to inquiries related to client and portfolio data
  • Support management reporting
     

Qualifications:

  •  BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting, or other related degree
  • 2+ years asset management experience with working knowledge of investment and servicing functions
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities in a high performance, high demand environment
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong time management skills
  • Strong control/risk mitigation mentality with ability to know when to escalate issues
  • Capacity for critical and independent thought, especially around process improvement
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
  • Outstanding work ethic and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of one's role to achieve team and firm objectives
