Associate - Investment Banking - Technology Mergers & Acquisitions Team

GROUP DESCRIPTION: Jefferies Technology Group provides a full suite of advisory and capital markets capabilities to clients across a number of sectors, including, communications technologies, enterprise software, semiconductors and components, electronics and hardware, internet and digital media, financial technology and payments, and technology services. The Global Technology Group consists of a team of approximately 115 bankers focused on providing services to clients in these industries in North America, Europe and Asia.

POSITION: The Global Technology team is actively looking for an Associate to join our San Francisco office to help support the Technology Mergers & Acquisitions team. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. Candidates must be able to quarterback deals, lead client meetings and transaction execution, and supervise junior bankers. The selected candidate will gain exceptional exposure to senior bankers while playing an integral role within this collegial and highly revered team of top tier investment bankers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Significant responsibilities related to pitching and executing advisory transactions for a broad group of public and private clients. These responsibilities will include the following:

  • Preparing and participating in the delivery of client presentations;
  • Compiling a variety of financial analyses such as valuation, pro forma, and three statement operational models;
  • Analyzing business plans and participating in due diligence sessions;
  • Drafting private and public marketing materials such as offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, and financial data packets;
  • Leading drafting sessions;
  • Preparing and managing the delivery of internal deal memos and databases.
These responsibilities afford direct and active interaction with the senior executive management teams of our clients.

Qualifications
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
  • Either (i) an MBA plus 1+ years of investment banking experience as an Associate or (ii) a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus 3+ years of investment banking or consulting experience
  • Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
  • Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as team player
