Impossible Foods is looking for a talented Senior Manager, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Management to join our Accounting Team in Redwood City, CA and support activities at the manufacturing plant in Oakland, CA reporting directly to the VP, Corporate Controller. This position will manage and provide analysis of Inventory and CoGS. The ideal individual is a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. This position will work closely with Finance and Operations teams to explain significant cost drivers affecting Inventory and CoGS to senior management.

You will: 
 Work with Plant Manager and Senior Cost Accountant to develop effective and efficient
month end close process as it relates to inventory and cost accounting processes
 Provide senior management effective understanding and analysis of inventory and
COGS actual results, budget development, and variance reporting. Effectively tell the
story of significant drivers affecting COGS
 Lead and establish annual Plant operating Budget including among other things: Labor &
Overhead costs, Spending costs, Launch, Inventory and related costs - Analyzing,
interpreting and communicating annual budgets to assure accuracy and reasonableness
 Partner with the Operations team to understand material cost drivers and to develop
and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, and benchmarking
 Partner with the Operations and Finance teams to review cost drivers
 Partner with the Corporate Tax team on strategic tax initiatives and oversee the
implementation related of Global Finance Business process matters (e.g. transfer
pricing) and tax compliance matters
 Partner with Procurement team to support costing supplier claims and track payments
 Manage monthly inventory and COGS analyses
 Manage COGS functions, including inventory transactions, gross margin analysis, and
variances. Provide detailed inventory reconciliation and COGS analytics
 Manage the budgeting and planning for the manufacturing operations
 Develop and report Monthly KPI’s – responsible for determining meaningful and
consistent Global Financial manufacturing KPI’s for operations, including definitions,
calculations, and bringing foresight to likely impacts
 Develop, maintain, and improve inventory records and cost accounting data in
accordance with US GAAP and SOX internal control requirements
 Manage and review inventory related reconciliations and inventory reserves
 Drive cycle count and annual physical inventory internal audit, and support annual
external audits
 Fixed Assets- overseeing fixed asset acquisitions / disposals and ensuring that fixed
assets are properly identified and tracked in the physical asset management system.
Coordination of Capital & Expense Projects (approvals, forecasts, work orders).
Oversight of physical asset inventories to confirm assets in place and to correct where
appropriate property accounting records
 Actual Results - responsible for monthly accounting close and ensuring accuracy of the
financials - understand all costs (specific and allocated) included in the plant ledger

 Drive Product margin improvement initiatives to increase competitiveness of the
Company’s manufacturing sites, develop and track Year on Year net cost changes
 Provide financial review of our Manufacturing and Supply network dealing with multiple
 Support R&D activities and new product development trials and launches
 Key contributor to Sage X3 upgrades and improvements related to MRP
 Owner of Sage X3 transaction modules related to the inventory and cost accounting
operations processes (including MRP), including the support of system enhancements
and related automation initiatives
 Support other groups with ad hoc analysis as required from time to time
 Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline processes

You have: 
 12+ years of experience with a strong emphasis on both significant manufacturing
experience and management of the inventory transaction cycles and the related GAAP
 Inside public company accounting and finance experience (i.e., leadership of
Inventory/Supply Chain/Quality Operations Finance/Manufacturing/CMO/Accounting)
and experience or familiarity in a complex environment (large, multi-national corporation
experience strongly preferred). Financial planning and analysis experience a plus
 Experience with MRPs; experience implementing, managing and training on MRP
 Ability to create and document internal control procedures and processes
 Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
 Requires a high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement and
attention to detail in a fast paced & rapidly changing environment
 Broad knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management principles, systems,
and procedures
 Proactive and timely problem solver
 BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
 CMA or CPA experience is preferred
