Position Overview:

The Data Analyst is responsible for data integrity and improving our reporting infrastructure across all Apartment Network teams. While working alongside the Business Analyst, the Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for integrating CoStar databases and presenting analysis, interpretation and recommendations to Senior Management.  The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for quality control of our reporting, and will uncover and present solutions for any data integrity issues that may exist.

By producing reporting, analysis and insight on performance, gaps and errors across all Apartment Operations functions, the Senior Data Analyst helps to ensure CoStar and Apartment Network clients and consumers are provided with the most complete and accurate multifamily data available.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with Senior Management in the Apartments Operations organization in the implementation of a strategy for an aligned and efficient approach to multifamily content collection
  • Improve reporting systems through cross-departmental collaboration; help Management re-define existing processes and reporting strategies
  • Build quality control measures that allow for the highest level of data integrity for our analysis and reporting
  • Provide technical data extraction to support Apartment Operations leadership using SQL, Access and Excel
  • Development of reporting tools ensuring users always have the latest, most up to date information and analysis in a simple, usable format
  • Work alongside Business Analyst in all aspects of reporting, including metrics, reporting and presentations
  • Analyse market and user activity and investigate methods of obtaining new sources of information
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of CoStar and Apartment Network products and be able to demonstrate the value of these products and research methodology to internal and external customers
  • Act as an ambassador for CoStar Research to both internal and external customers
  • Act as a role model by maintaining the highest professional standards.  Promote our ethics of trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of interrogating databases using SQL, SAS, Access & Excel; Visual Studio experience a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to analyse data and interpret information and trends
  • Excellent problem solving, attention to detail, objectivity and the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills proven experience of presenting data to a non-technical audience
  • Results orientated - ability to prioritize, drive and achieve whilst working to deadlines under pressure
  • Analytical approach with the ability to interpret information and trends
  • Ability to learn new systems. Ability to organize workload in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a technology led environment
