The Knowledge Management - Eagle Application Team (KM-EAT) serves as the centralized business super user group for Eagle Star, Capital’s accounting system for our retail & institutional books of business.  The team is responsible for working with the Core Operations business users & IT to provide production support for Eagle Star.  Additionally, the team drives the technology roadmap in partnership with the IT team.

The Senior Accounting System Analyst will leverage broad knowledge of Eagle Star and Core Operations accounting procedures to provide guidance and support for ad-hoc operational issues, technical questions for system defect and/or solutions, and helping lead strategic systematic solutions for enhancements to support new business products and initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads production support and Eagle Star application ownership in partnership with team members and management
    • Able to provide quality analysis to assist Core Operations and other business users for production system issues triage and resolution
    • Contribute to the prioritization and resolution of system defects and enhancements involving frequent interaction and partnership with the external vendor, Eagle Investment Systems
  • Communicates regularly with a variety of audiences, including:
    • Participates in projects and initiatives with broad reaching impacts
    • Utilizes subject matter expertise to provide inputs to enhancement requests, assesses risks and proposes validation strategies for effective implementation
    • Represents KM-EAT and collaborates with functional groups to identify and facilitate knowledge sharing in interactions
  • Assist management in stabilization activities for the Eagle Star global support model.  Examples may include:
    • Leading a cross-functional virtual team of representatives from the various teams who process in Eagle Star
    • Developing the infrastructure & tools needed to advance the communication model across business users
    • Implementing more effective methods for timely escalation and resolution of system issues
  • Help define and develop the overall technology support model for Core Operations (across all Core Operations systems inclusive of Eagle Star and other critical systems)
     

 Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong learning agility and aptitude for understanding technology
  • Work experience with Eagle Star, ideally in an investment management firm, a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity; demonstrate initiative by identifying issues and recommending potential solutions; willingness to jump in where needed
  • Keen eye for identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Strong communication skills; interpersonal savvy and an ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintaining working relationships across IT & Core Operations
  • Bachelor's degree required.
