Position Description:

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to join a soon-to-be-launched credit fund which will target impact-oriented investment opportunities that seek to achieve sustainable impact outcomes while generating stable long-term income and attractive risk-adjusted returns. The fund will primarily invest in emerging market opportunities, particularly those backed by real assets such as critical infrastructure.

This individual will be keenly involved in the ramp-up of the fund from launch to subsequent capital closes, playing a meaningful role in comprehensive underwriting and risk management analytics to assess relative value and contribute to portfolio construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deal underwriting, due diligence, and making investment recommendations to the fund's Investment Committee
  • Monitoring of existing investments and portfolio exposures
  • Regular engagement with external parties in order to source new investments and develop an active investment pipeline
  • This individual will interact with portfolio managers across PIMCO's footprint, including in emerging markets, credit research, and alternatives, in addition to the broader ESG franchise


Position Requirements:

  • Ideal profile would have minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, including investment banking experience in related field (as listed in bullet below) at sell-side or rating agency
  • Additional experience in emerging/frontier markets, project finance, SME lending, renewable energy and the public sector are all useful
  • Individual should have in-depth transaction/underwriting experience, and a strong analytical framework
  • Prior experience in credit underwriting, strong modelling skills required
  • Strong academic credentials; background in engineering, renewable energy, or infrastructure a strong plus
