Consultant Database Associate

Position Description

The Consultant Database Group manages leading industry consultant and third party databases. Databases are an important aspect of business development and the group's objective is to make sure the firm is accurately represented so that we are included in business screens/searches. The consultant database associate ensures all product and firm profiles are maintained and updated in Mercer (GIMD), eVestment and other important consultant and third party databases. The associate will look to enhance current profiles, increasing the number of products in each database and making sure each product change is properly reflected. Consultant database associates work with product strategists, account managers and other groups around the firm. They also play an important part in the sales process by responding to ad hoc inquiries from consultants.

  • Regularly maintain and update firm/product profiles across all consultant and third party databases
  • Communicate PIMCO's brand messaging, investment philosophy, and value added management style
  • Develop and maintain relationships with consulting firms and complete ad -hoc requests from institutional consultants
  • Coordinate with Product Management groups to ensure accuracy of product profiles
  • Conduct competitor-related database profile research to ensure products are effectively positioned for optimal search utilization
  • Use market and competitor knowledge to proactively manage databases
  • Maintain robust knowledge of product, consultant, and database related information
  • Keep abreast of firm and product updates and proactively apply chances to the databases
  • Provide solutions through continuous automation and improvement of processes

Position Requirements

  • Familiarity with financial markets and a strong interest in learning about the product universes, the asset management industry and client/consultant relationships
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and multi -tasking skills
  • Experience interacting with databases and both internal and external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative abilities as well as high comfort level with Microsoft Excel and software applications in general
  • Strong desire to succeed, contribute, be a team player, be self-motivated, innovative and solution minded
  • Ideal candidates should have 1- 2 years of experience or college internships in a financial, client -oriented role
  • Completion of Series 7 & 66 is required within first 3 months of service

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree
